About the Director, Peggy Jakab

Peggy Jakab has a BA in Elementary Education from Walsh University.  After graduating, she taught third grade for two years before moving on to a six year stint as a first grade teacher.  After her second child was born, she began teaching preschool at Christ Presbyterian Church in Chesterland.  She was promoted to Director of that preschool and this is where she met Mary Gore, her partner in Community Preschool.  Peggy and Mary became friends and decided to open their own preschool together.  Mary Gore retired in 2008 to travel and spend more time with her children and grandchildren.

It has been nineteen years since Community Preschool opened its doors to serve the young children in the Chesterland area.  Peggy has seen many changes over the years.  Perhaps the most obvious change is the fact that preschool has become an absolute necessity for every child to form the foundation needed to handle the challenges of today's kindergarten curriculum.

Peggy loves her job as Pre-K teacher and Director of Community Preschool and strives to provide preschoolers with an environment rich in materials that allows them to learn while playing and having fun.
